When many people think of Memorial Day, they think of a day off of work, family get togethers and barbecues.
For others, it can also bring up lots of memories, sadness, and grief for the families who have lost loved ones.
On this day we pay recognition to those who have given their lives in the name of freedom.
All the special men in my life—my husband, my father, my father-in-law, and brother-in-law—are all military Veterans.
When they share their stories of the brotherhood and the sisterhood they experienced out on the field, I am overwhelmed with feelings of love, encouragement, and support.
To know that some men and women my family served beside did not make it home helps me to really understand that life is truly precious.
I am thankful, I remember and honor all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for me.
As always, however you are feeling today, I want you to know that you are never alone. I encourage you to reach out—if not to me, then to someone!
