“What’s your plan for your future?” Remember when the adults in our life would ask us this question as we approached high school graduation? (I used to hate that question!)
Some of us knew exactly what we wanted to do and some of us fumbled around and just went with the flow.
At what point in life did people stop asking us that question?
At what point in life do we stop asking ourselves this question?
Can I ask you something?
Is your life exactly the way you want it right now? Or has life turned out very different than how you planned?
For me, life is very different than I ever dreamed. As a kid, my dream was to become a marine biologist, but I failed out of my first year of college, switched majors, and fumbled around for some years.
When I went back to college, I was working in law enforcement and thought, “Hey, I might as well get a degree in Criminal Justice!” But you know what? I no longer work in the field. I’m grateful for the college experience, although I use more of my work experiences vs college experience in my everyday life…and my dream job has really become coaching.
Life definitely has its detours and distractions and sometimes we seem to lose our way...but we can always find our way back with a little help.
Where are you now? Is it where you want to be?
Are you happy? Fulfilled? Or are you wondering what happened?
What is your plan for your future?
As always, however you are feeling today, I want you to know that you are never alone. I encourage you to reach out—if not to me, then to someone!
I believe in you,
Teresa
